Podejście rządu do gospodarki da się podsumować w kilku krótkich frazach: jeśli coś się kręci – opodatkuj to. Jeśli nadal się kręci – ureguluj to. A jeśli przestanie się kręcić – zacznij płacić subsydia

About PAFERE Foundation

Mission

Our foundation, PAFERE, was established by Polish refugees, who managed to escape from Communist Poland to the Free-market United States. Very quickly they learned how free market economy, untamed entrepreneurship, and individualism inspire peoples. initiatives. They decided to help Poles in Poland after the dismounting of Soviet domination to better understand the rules of the free market economy. After several years of individual activity the decided to establish (in 2000) the Polish-American Foundation for Economic Research and Education (PAFERE) with goals to promote the free market economy education amongst the Polish society.

Activity
After seven years of managing all activities (including two major international conferences) from the USA, the leaders felt it was necessary to establish a foundation well settled in Poland, operating under the auspices of the Polish code of law. In March 2007 PAFERE Polska (Polsko-Amerykańska Fundacja Edukacji i Rozwoju Ekonomicznego) was established as a wholly owned and financed PAFERE-USA subsidiary. All activity in Poland is run by the fully established PAFERE-Poland, including internet web site http://www.pafere.org, where everyone may monitor our activities and have access to our publications. In 2007 and in 2008 our foundation hosted events with participation of foreign experts and intellectuals with Dr. Alejandro A. Chafuen of Atlas Foundation, Dr. Michael Miller of Acton Institute, Dr. Adolpho Lindberg of Brazil, Dr. Thomas E. Woods of Mises Institute, Daniel J. Mitchell of CATO Institute, professor Ken Schoolland of Hawai Pacific University, Dr Kris Mauren of Acton, Sheldon Richman, editor in chief of "The Freeman" magazine, Dr. Mart Laar, former Prime Minister of Estonia, and professor Thomas DiLorenzo of Loyola Catholic University.

Education
Our goal to promote the free-market economy is accomplished through series of lectures and conferences broadcasted throughout Poland. We emphasize these ideas with the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. Therefore we aim our activity at the college and graduate students, including public, private, and religious academic institutions. Roman Catholic clergy enjoys popular respect, trust and authority for its role in Polish history and struggle for freedom. Unfortunately, religious seminaries here don.t pay much attention to bringing their alumni together with understanding of solid economic principles. Our role is to show them how free-market economy principles can be embraced by the religions. The next group of society we aim at is political leaders. Our foundation feeds them with analytical and synthetic reports and publications that serve them with better understanding of economic processes, the impact that their decisions have on their country.s economy, and entrepreneurial spirit and activity of their electorate.

Bullettin
In order to reach our goals we publish our quarterly „IDEE” (IDEAS in English), where we promote the free-market rules, by distributing dissertations of seasoned scholars, economists and politicians. Our periodic is distributed in public, private and religious academic institutions, so students, alumni, professors and lecturers can be better familiarized with the principles of free-market economy.
